Job Title: Transport Administrator (Temp to Perm)
Location: Cattall York
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm (early finish on Fridays!)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a proactive and organized Transport Administrator to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis. As the Transport Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support across various departments including Logistics, Sales, Operations, Accounts, Production, and Procurement, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This is a varied and dynamic role that will give you the opportunity to be involved in multiple aspects of the business.

You’ll report to the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager and be part of a collaborative team, ensuring top-notch customer service, effective transport management, and efficient office administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Administration:

    • Manage daily logistics tasks such as booking ferries, liaising with suppliers, and checking transport invoices.

    • Complete statutory documentation and support the Compliance Coordinator and Transport Planner as needed.

  • General Administration:

    • Process sales and purchase orders, data entry, and assist in general office duties.

    • Provide administrative support across various departments as required.

    • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate person.

  • Customer Service & Reception:

    • Provide excellent customer and supplier service, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner.

    • Greet visitors and ensure they check-in on arrival.

    • Manage incoming calls, ensuring follow-ups where necessary.

  • Health and Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and report any issues to management.

  • General Duties:

    • Contribute to process improvements and maintain a tidy work environment.

    • Participate in other duties as needed, adhering to company policies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or transport-related role is desirable.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices in the workplace is preferred.
